The value of a currency when converted to another is known as the exchange rate. It can also be thought of as the value of one currency in comparison to another.
Reference exchange rates and middle-market exchange rates both adhere to ISO 4217:2015 (Codes for the representation of currencies), which outlines the format for the three-letter alphabetic and three-digit numeric codes that are given to each currency.
